~ Marianne: Lady-in-Waiting ~

Marianne Kirby is a writer, an artist, and an editor. Her favorite punctuation mark is the comma. She does not think it strange to have a favorite punctuation mark.

She promises not to ask for help fixing her computer if you promise not to take that condescending tone with her about video games. She won't laugh at your anime collection if you won't laugh at her slavish devotion to Warren Ellis. As a general rule, Marianne is in a good mood. She's an optimist, which she counters by wearing black and going dancing at goth clubs. Marianne was raised by Clarke, Asimov, and Heinlein. This means she is 3 Laws Safe, but it's still probably best not to push your luck.

In her spare time, Marianne makes things out of other things. Her work is based around practical themes, but created with an eye to the different. As such, a simple computer cable becomes a belt, and simple boxes made of paper emerge as complex sculpture. Her eye for fine detail has earned her some attention in Europe, and she has had work commissioned for private collections in the UK. Her work with limited edition volumes of her own poetry, each individually hand-bound, has found its way into private collections around the country.

Marianne thinks cancer sucks. She believes in interdependent human communities and that everyone benefits when people help support each other. She is not a feel-good, squishy hippie, but agrees that local actions can have global impact. That's why she volunteered her mad editorial skillz and then let people take her picture.

If you are a creepy stalker, leave Marianne alone. If you are a culture-savvy lover of handmade items, visit her at her Etsy store and buy things from her.
